Our results indicate that the annual mean PV power potential ( PVPOT) over China would decrease by several percent relative to the reference period (1986–2005) under a warmer climate, with the most pronounced decrease over the Tibetan Plateau, which is currently the most solar-rich region in China.
Several scholars have analyzed the growth of solar energy in the Chinese context from various angles. Irfan et al. (2019a, b) emphasized the significance of solar energy for power production in China and evaluated the potential of electricity generation from solar sources.

According to the China Meteorological Administration, China has abundant solar energy resources. The total potential for solar radiant energy of 1.7×10 12 tce (tons of standard coal equivalent) per year for the entire country. More than two-third of the country has over 2000 h of sunshine each year, which provides an equivalent annual solar radiation of over 5.02×10 6
This paper summarizes the status of the solar energy resources and the
6 天之前· Northwest China, with its abundant solar resources and vast desert lands, has emerged as the optimal location for solar energy development (He and Kammen, 2016; Zhou et al., 2010). By 2020, the installed capacity of PV power generation in the northwestern Chinese provinces of Qinghai, Xinjiang, Inner Mongolia, and Ningxia had each exceeded 10,000 kW.
China''s newly installed photovoltaic capacity has ranked first in the world in recent years. Timely and accurate monitoring of the spatiotemporal distribution characteristics of solar power plants is essential to optimize China''s renewable energy power distribution and achieve carbon reduction targets. However, long-term solar panel (SP
The results will yield important insights for rationally deploying the proportion of wind and solar power installed capacity in China to address the spatiotemporal imbalance of supply and demand (such as the reverse spatial distribution of wind and solar resources and electricity demand, the anti-peak characteristic of wind power, and the "duck curve" of
The majority of the energy required for human survival is derived either directly or indirectly from solar radiation, thus it is important to investigate the periodic fluctuations in global solar radiation over time. In this study, six
Standard deviation ellipse (SDE) method was used to investigate the spatial characteristics of China''s renewable energy production. SDE reflects the spatial distribution characteristics of research objects, such as trends of dispersion, agglomeration, and evolution (Lefever, 1926). It calculates the standard distances of a series of points in
The analysis evaluated the condition of solar energy resources in the Baicheng region in the western part of Jilin province, China. The characteristic curve of the power output from a photovoltaic
With the increasingly serious problems of energy shortage and environmental degradation, countries around the world are actively developing safe, environmentally friendly, and renewable energy. Biomass energy has become an ideal substitute for fossil fuels due to its abundant reserves, good renewable performance, and zero carbon emissions. This paper

In this paper, the seasonal trends in solar energy over subregions of China on a long-term timescale (2020–2099) and the changes
Solar power is vital for China''s future energy pathways to achieve the goal of 2060 carbon neutrality. Previous studies have suggested that China''s solar energy resource potential surpass the projected nationwide power demand in 2060, yet the uncertainty quantification and cost
Wind and solar energy are expected to become the main sources of electricity supply in China, which requires addressing the balance problem between intermittent generation and random fluctuating loads and overcoming the seasonal and spatial distribution differences between wind and solar resources and electricity demand. Therefore
To accurately provide a basis for the use of solar energy in mainland China, the optimized empirical model is adopted to analyze the variation trends and spatial patterns in solar radiation (SR) during 1961–2016 based on the data of
Second, our findings on solar energy investment, the digital economy, and carbon emissions are useful reference points for policymakers and researchers alike. Third, the data on solar energy investment counted in
Solar power is vital for China''s future energy pathways to achieve the goal of 2060 carbon neutrality. Previous studies have suggested that China''s solar energy resource potential surpass the projected nationwide power demand in 2060, yet the uncertainty quantification and cost competitiveness of such resource potential are less studied
However, according to the National Energy Administration of China, the total proportion of solar and wind energy in the energy structure of China will only reach 11% by 2021 [6], indicating that the exploitation of solar energy resources in China should be developed in future works. Therefore, a comprehensive and accurate estimation of where and how much
This paper summarizes the status of the solar energy resources and the development of the solar PV power industry in China, and puts forward the main factors that impacted the development of the industry. A study refers to the selected five main factors the factors are: technology research and development, industrial plans, laws and
In this paper, the seasonal trends in solar energy over subregions of China on a long-term timescale (2020–2099) and the changes in three different future periods (near future [2021–2040], mid-century [2046–2065] and late-century [2080–2099]) were projected using the downscaling simulations of RegCM4 (Regional Climate Model, version 4), includin...
On the basis of analysis of the four factors that impact the development of China''s PV power generation, including solar-energy resources in China, PV industry conditions, research and development of solar-cell technology, and related PV policies, the prospects and development potential of PV power generation in China are discussed
China is rich in wind- and solar-energy resources. In recent years, under the auspices of the "double carbon target," the government has significantly increased funding for the development of wind and solar resources. However, because wind and solar energy are intermittent and their spatial distribution is uneven, the profits obtained by the developers of
