More supportive policies to maximize solar power use and promote healthier photovoltaic development are in the pipeline, with sanguine forecasts of record growth in PV capacity this year, officials and experts said.
The paper is organized as follows: Section 2 provides an overview of China''s solar PV development; Section 3 makes a review on China''s solar PV policies, particularly the FIT scheme implemented in 2011; policy challenges are discussed in Section 4; and Section 5 makes policy recommendations, followed by concluding remarks in Section 6.
In China, renewable energy includes hydropower, solar PV, solar thermal, concentrating solar, wind energy, bioenergy, geothermal, and tidal or marine energy. In the power sector, China
According to the plan, China will accelerate building large wind power and photovoltaic bases in deserts, and will in the meantime encourage distributed power generation in villages, industrial parks and building rooftops. By 2025, half of new buildings of public institutions will have solar power facilities on their rooftops.
The law proposes five important measures: first, a total renewable energy amount target system; second, renewable energy grid-connected power generation and a full-payment purchasing system; third, a renewable energy classified feed-in tariff and cost allocation system; fourth, support for rural renewable energy development; fifth, fiscal tax

On the one hand, the method based on
With a burgeoning demand for PV systems on the horizon, there is an urgent need to reassess past policies and chart new directions. This study employs bibliometrics and
China''s breakneck build-out of solar power, fuelled by rock-bottom equipment prices and policy support, is slowing as grid bottlenecks pile up, market reforms increase uncertainty for generators
Mr Xi announced in December 2020 that China planned to triple its wind and solar capacity by 2030. China is on track to reach that target by the end of next year, said Mr Frank Haugwitz, a solar
While Australia debates the merits of going nuclear and frustration grows over the slower-than-needed switch to solar and wind power, China''s renewables rollout is breaking all the records.
China has already made major commitments to transitioning its energy systems towards renewables, especially power generation from solar, wind and hydro sources. However, there are many unknowns about the future of solar energy in China, including its cost, technical feasibility and grid compatibility in the coming decades. Recent projections of
With a burgeoning demand for PV systems on the horizon, there is an urgent need to reassess past policies and chart new directions. This study employs bibliometrics and content analysis to systematically scrutinize China''s PV policies across distinct phases, delineating the underlying rationale and overarching evolutionary trajectory. It offers
In China, renewable energy includes hydropower, solar PV, solar thermal, concentrating solar, wind energy, bioenergy, geothermal, and tidal or marine energy. In the power sector, China generally distinguishes between hydropower and non-hydro renewable energy, which typically equates to "new energy."
China vows to speed up the construction of the second batch of massive wind and solar power projects in the Gobi Desert and other arid regions, according to a package of

Renewable energy plays a significant role in achieving energy savings and emission reduction. As a sustainable and environmental friendly renewable energy power technology, concentrated solar power (CSP) integrates power generation and energy storage to ensure the smooth operation of the power system. However, the cost of CSP is an obstacle hampering the commercialization

China vows to speed up the construction of the second batch of massive wind and solar power projects in the Gobi Desert and other arid regions, according to a package of policy measures that aim to stabilize the economy announced by the State Council recently.
According to a statement jointly released by the National Development and Reform Commission, China''s top economic regulator, and the National Energy Administration at the end of May, the country will increase its total installed capacity of wind and solar power to over 1.2 billion kilowatts by 2030 while covering as many as 50 percent of the nation''s buildings
Over recent decades, China has risen to a preeminent global position in both solar photovoltaic (PV) adoption and production, a feat underpinned by a suite of pivotal policy measures. With a burgeoning demand for PV systems on the horizon, there is an urgent need to reassess past policies and chart new directions.
However, based on the limited studies on China’s solar PV policies, the literature only lists China’s existing PV solar policies , , which cannot explain the dynamic trajectory of Chinese solar policy and its relation to the development of the industry.
To our knowledge, rare studies make a comprehensive analysis on China's solar PV policies, particularly on policies implemented during 2011–2012. The purpose of this paper is to make an effort to fill this gap. It contributes to the academic literature over China's solar PV power policies.
