What compensation does the NCC scheme offer eiis?

The NCC Scheme will offer EIIs 60% compensation on eligible network charging costs. As the NCC Scheme is funded via the EII Support Levy, compensation will be paid out to EIIs in arrears once the funds have been raised via the Levy.

Will the NCC scheme compensate for network costs incurred by GB national grid?

As set out in the consultation, the NCC Scheme will compensate for network costs incurred through use of the GB National Grid. Any network costs incurred through use of the Northern Irish electricity network are outside the scope of what the government expects this scheme to achieve.

What is the NCC scheme & EII support Levy?

The Bill will also provide the powers to implement the means of funding this compensation scheme, a charge on all licenced electricity suppliers in the form of the EII Support Levy. A public consultation on the NCC Scheme and EII Support Levy will be launched in Summer 2023 which will help inform the details of the policy.

Will eiis be compensated for network charges?

Following the conclusion of this consultation, the government intends to take forward the proposed measures to compensate EIIs for a portion of their network charges, based on existing eligibility criteria outlined in the consultation which will apply to the full package of measures.
